Andrea Rodriguez is a dancer, performer, and teacher with over twenty years of experience. She began her career as a founding dance member and teaching artist for the S.F youth artist organization, Loco Bloco. Andrea holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Dance and Choreography from UCLA's World Arts and Cultures Department, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from USC's School of Cinematic Arts, Interactive Media Division. Her international dance training and many performances include residencies in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Senegal, Mexico, and Hawaii. Andrea has taught Zumba Fitness since 2009 and is a Producer for the Zumba Fitness Video Game Franchise. She was awarded the Latinos Living Healthy Grant from the prestigious organization LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens). Collaborating with Los Angeles band Buyepongo, Andrea developed a dance, fitness and music curriculum for a series of community events throughout Southern California. Teaching partnership dance styles of salsa, samba, cumbia and intersecting language arts, theater, and digital media are some of Andrea's specialties. From the S.F streets of Carnaval to the college classrooms, Andrea always brings a vibrant energy and spirit to her teaching style and methodology.
