Erin Lee Sears

Erin began teaching visual arts twenty years ago at a charter school in San Diego. In 2007, she moved to San Francisco and began her role as a programs director so she could make sure her school stayed true to its mission, “arts for all.”

Her art students are introduced to a wide variety of skills, concepts, and media. They create exciting and innovative projects using drawing, painting and printmaking techniques along with the elements of design.

Erin uses art history to teach big ideas and help her students gain a deeper appreciation of art. She selects artists that are engaging and relevant to her students as well as uses strategies that help them interact with the art in meaningful ways.

When not teaching art, you can find Erin binge reading books, going to galleries, hiking in the woods, digging in the dirt, and doodling.
