WORKSHOP: Decorative Wall Hanging
Alison Baxley moves between graphic arts and studio art as a professional designer and constant creator. She has worked for the past 15 years as a graphic artist designing everything from product packaging and dinnerware to catalogs and web sites. She is also involved in community art projects in the city of Belmont with Belmont Connects Community Workshop, a program that brings the community together to create art and beautify the city.
Alison has been teaching art lessons for her son’s elementary school for the past five years through Art in Action and currently runs the program at his elementary school with a few other dedicated parents. Alison received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from UC Davis.
Akemi Smoot

Amanda Jones
WORKSHOP: Tile by Tile: A Community Canvas
Northern California native, Amanda Jones, is a painter and illustrator with a background in graphic design. Amanda has always been dedicated to the process of creating. Whether it be watercolors and ink, paper-cuts or digital illustration, she has a passion for creative problem solving and artistic expression. Amanda has been an art instructor at Studio 700 Center for the Arts, serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, since 2011. Her teaching experience there spanned across all mediums and focused on helping others use art to express themselves and build self-worth. Sharing the gift of imagination and empowering others to communicate their hopes and dreams through a work of art is the most fulfilling part of her career.
Madison Avery
WORKSHOP: Zine Making
Madison Avery is a multidisciplinary artist who experiments with all kinds of media but specializes in ceramics. She spent her formative years frolicking through the woods and prairies of Michigan but moved to San Francisco in 2019 to pursue an education at USF and to live in a place that’s more accepting of queer people and immersed in endless diverse cultures. She completed her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in 2024 and will graduate this May with a Master’s in Urban Education and Social Justice. She specializes in ceramics but currently spends most of her time now making zines with children and writing poetry for strangers on the street. Besides recognizing shared humanity and strengthening creativity, Madison is motivated to engage with art as a way to uplift untold stories from the margins of society. She is interested in the ways that carceral and colonial histories can be interpreted through art into pathways towards a truly just and equal future for all.
Manolo Davila
WORKSHOP: Drumming
Manolo Davila was brought up in San Francisco's Mission District, surrounded by art and music. He has been an arts educator, performer and organizer for the past 12 years. Although he was already breakdancing, playing congas, and rapping as a child, it wasn't until later that picking up his father's classical guitar sparked an artistic revolution in his life.
He has performed with groups, such as Mara Reggae, Loco Bloco and SambaAxe. Manolo has studied Afro-Brazilian, Haitian, Cuban, West African and Congolese dance, and has participated in San Francisco's Carnaval Parade for over 20 years. Two years in a row, 2012 and 2013, he competed and won 2nd place in the "King & Queen of Carnaval" competition.
Manolo teaches guitar at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts and plays a wealth of styles and instruments. Along with his brother, he plays in a progressive rock band called "The Next Level". He has also worked extensively with children at Buena Vista Childcare, as Drum instructor for Loco Bloco and Tradicion Peruana; as Summer Camp Counselor at Project Avery; and currently with the YMCA at George Washington Carver Elementary School.
Manolo loves working with young people, and is grateful for the chance to share the same feeling of wonder that he experienced as a child. He believes in the power of music, dance and art to build stronger, more harmonious communities.
Terrence Paschal
WORKSHOP: Dance
Terrence Paschal is an originally self taught dancer from Stockton California. His first influences were street dance forms that originated in Oakland, Turfing and Popping. He was also inspired by Brooklyn street dance forms such as Bruk up and Flexn. It was through exposure to these forms and fascination with Micheal Jackson that led him to explore Ballet and modern dance forms. Later on he worked with Embodiment Project where he was exposed to house dance and new methods of narrative based storytelling; through movement and spoken word. Today he utilizes various different street dance modalities to find freedom in expression and through teaching he aims to help others find their own unique voice as well.

bonnie polson photography
@polsonb_
“Oh, look, did you notice that?” With a camera, I discover outdoor moments that might otherwise be overlooked, try to capture them and share the awe I feel with an image I have taken and processed. This may be the wild joy of bright backlit flowers blowing in a field, the intimacy and calmness of a small scene, that wouldn’t be noticed without quiet and solitude or a new view of San Francisco or Yosemite.
My goal is to tell the story of the moment. The final image is designed in my head, then shot using a specific lens, distance and angle for the effect I have envisioned. Once on the computer, I bring out the subtleties of light, color and mood so the viewer can experience the same one I felt when the image was shot. I edit using Lightroom and Photoshop, without dramatically changing the image. I sometimes will add a fantasy or abstract aspect but will note this. I want each of my images to be felt as an intimate moment in time, without the necessity of words.

9AM.art
@9am.art
I am a San Francisco local abstract artist and I love to paint flowers and vases. Over the years, I have developed my style to find free flowing abstract ways to create these abstract florals on all kinds of surfaces and in variety of media. For eg: I paint abstracts on paper and cut them into quirky shapes of vases and turn them into floral paintings onto paper. People just LOVE them. For my bigger works, I also play with joint compound to create textured vases on wood and complete the flowers in mixed media. So my whole art practice is about playing and flowing and having fun in imperfections.
Embracing this style, I create various handmade products- framed artworks, art greeting cards, bookmarks, painted planters.
I also love to facilitate art activations for making these floral paintings on paper which fun and easy step by step process with art supplies provided.
